Nice work. It may be old, but that Athearn kit is still a great starting point.
When you do the body putty around those seams, it might help if you put some masking tape on things like the handrail and door detail so that you keep the putty off it. I'd also encourage you to give automotive spot filler a try, as you can sand 20 minutes after applying it (or less), instead of a day or two like the squadron products that shrink.
Could you please tell me who made/makes the round tank trailers in the first photo? I'm looking for a couple of these for my early 60's piggyback train. The only one I've found so far is a heavy cast metal one, and those look like plastic to me. Thanks Mike Sulzbach Bradenton Florida
