I just recieved my SD45, and am in need of some pictures of Norfolk Southern's repainted former N&W SD45's. I found one on fallen flags, but that Isn't the version I am looking for. Christian

Might be hard to find, the SD-45s were pretty much gone by then.

Are you thinking of the "Maroon marauders" that were maroon with gold "NW" on the long hood? or perhaps the NW 1776, bicentennial? I will have to dig thru my slide collection, and see what moldy oldies I have acquired...I know I have a shot of NW 1776... Since you're near Indy, ask Zach, the owner of Big 4 hobbies if he has a slide or two you could use. He's a HUGE NW fan. He and another modeler I know, Ed Hartman, once had the lofty goal of replicating every piece of motive power NW ever owned.

Christian, I found these photos. Maybe they can help. Keep in mind the 1795 is ex N&W and the 3106 is es Sou. Notice the differences. Trucks, lift bars, bell, ect. Note the old Sou pilot stripes beginning to show through on the 3106.

Note the old Sou pilot stripes beginning to show through on the 3106. quote] if you get close enough to some of those older NS units, you can see the outline of the old southern lettering. My geuss is that they are decals that got painted over. P

Looks like I will do #1795, as i have pictures now from both sides. I always liked the N&W side of NS better than the Southern side. Those all weather windows, the extra brake cylinder and that gorgeous Leslie RS-5T-F look incredible. Christian
