Man, that is NICE!! I just love that paint scheme and what a great choice for the Feb logo. I've got a Southern F7A-B BLI set I need to get to one day. BTW Bob, I'm building a Wrightrack Southern Bay Window caboose and am having a real difficult time finding the red lenses to go in the roof-end mounted lights. If I may ask, which did you use? If I remember correctly, I used MV lenses LS200. How far along are you on your caboose?? Which caboose are you building, the early version or the rebuilt one??

Thanks for the info Bob...much appreciated! I'm pretty much ready to paint/decal the shell/roof/undercarriage. I need to get the decoder in so I can finish the wiring...and those pesky lenses! Here is a build thread I started to answer the question of how far along I am. (Caboose Build) I'm building the rebuilt version but I'm doing a variation on it...a newer one I believe. I'd be curious to your thoughts on it.

Nick, if you're ready to paint your caboose, be sure to apply one or two good coats of Modelflex or other water based paint/primer under your color coat if you're going to use a lacquer base paint as your top coat. You'll be handling your model a good bit and if you added the NMRA suggested weight into your model, your paint will begin to fade after all the finish work and handling you'll be doing.
I can testify to the fact that Modelflex is a fantastic primer for resin models.

Those roof air tanks = superfunkalicious. Neat F-unit indeed, and nicely done!

Bob, I have but one thing to say - FANTASTIC!
Thank you for sharing your awesome work, your time and your generosity, and for inspiring us to model, decal and paint.
To all whom have not seen Bob's work up close and in person, believe me, the photos don't do it justice!

Bob, Beautiful job on your SOU F3A. Are the roof torpedo tanks Details Associates? Do you have any details you could share for scratch building the fuel tank? Thanks and great job as usual.
