Okay guys, I posted my thread on GP60's and a GP59 and the story has developed over the weeks. My attempts at the GP59 have been unsatisfactory so I am looking at making my own long hood from styrene and C&C parts, this I will do on my upcoming appointment to a ship so don't expect to see this until the summer. I have therefore been concentrating on the GP60's, although one at a time so I have completed one bar the handrails, paint and pilot details. I made a mess of the rear headlight casting so had to remove one from another Athearn shell and file a hole big enough to accept it, I am pretty please with the results as you cannot tell that it isn't the original light casting! I hope to do the handrails over the weekend and once the weather picks up I will get painting and add pilot details. Then I will move onto the other GP60, which, will require a little more work as it is an ICE fitted unit so I will have to fashion a box for the engineers side of the nose. The gash in the walkway is where I scrapped to hard underneath with a knife blade to trim the shell to fit the air tanks! Showing the additions I made to the anti-climber as per the prototype and the coupler box that now fits a Kato coupler box. Another view of the anti-climber. The rear-headlight housing:

Well I kinda got carried away the other night and added an ICE box to the engineers side of the nose so I guess I'll be numbering it 7147.

If you look up a few more posts I commented that as id gone ahead and done the bulge id be numbering the unit to 7147. I was going to model both anyway so I've just reversed the order in which I do it. Maybe I should rename the thread?

I guess the thread name is a bit misleading now huh? Sent from my GT-I9100 using proboards

Just about to sit down and re-do the radiator grilles as I've come across a more realistic way to represent the way they look and then I will fill in the missing walkway where I spliced the two shell together. Hoping to post some more photo's later today.

Okay =, hit a bit of a snag! The other night when soldering the handrails I managed to let the card stock I was using to protect the shell move and melted a corner of the inertial filter compartment!!!
I've tried to fill this so it's not visible but it's not working so I am about to order C&C parts, looks like this one is on hold for a few weeks, annoyingly!

The parts arrived the other day to repair this but I took to finishing my GP40X first as I got a bit excited about finally finishing something I started years ago! This one is in line to be finished soon.
