Looks good Terry. What fans are you using? The fans are made by precision scale brass castings They are reasonably priced 4.50 for 3 radiator fans and 3.50 for 2 dynamic brake fans //on the inside of the fans I will be using Plano model products etched fan blades/

Did you have to remove plastic for the fan hatch? -William William i only slightly filed the bolt head castings and the lift ring dimples .the Plano fan hatch has bolt etchings and pre drilled holes for lift rings and the rear curved grab iron behind the fans its worth the effort/I have used the hatches on SD 40-2 and wow they look great! I want to try the safety tread walkway decals on my next build from all the Models i have seen AS in Uncle Jays (AKA )modelmaker51's work they look way better than the etched brass etc.....no seams /look out Archer transfers your next!

Nice job Terry! Is this your first 'Cannon' job? If so, it looks like you learn fast. I think the trickest part is cutting parts out without ruining the shell. I can't wait to see how the bolt etchings look in the finished model. I didn't realize those were available...

No not my first by no means!I more or less try to build my locos on the economically at 4 ft away view . i build so they look good with the most notable obvious details for now that i run on my clubs layout .But I have followed Bob Harpes Clinics and his work for years.but my frame mods are some what recent that i have learned from Randy's post's and Bobs GP 38 build i never realized that the Athearn BB 38-2"s were actually i bit to high until Bob mentioned it in the 38 build i am buying a milling machine from my uncle it a small unimat i think it is if i remember right that way i can fix the frame/truck height issue and the fuel tank contour /those guys just had to put that bug in my head lol

I hadn't seen this build, Brotha'.... VERY NICE! I'm liking the PSC fans more, every time I see them. And I'm definitely sold on the Plano fan hatches. .... I've got a couple of projects in the works, if I can acquire the parts for near free (or free!) Those are the kind of details that look great, look like you put in the effort, absolutely pass the '3 foot test', and aren't SO fragile, that you can never take it to another Layout. And, as I've seen of the rest of your work, Terry, it was masterfully done!
