Apologies if this has been posted here already - I've tried to search but have not found an answer...
I'm looking to model an RS11 low hood. Does anyone have info on parts availability for this? Any experience producing this model?
Thanks in advance,
-bill

chop the nose off of an Atlas trainman RS32...and use the chassis and deck too. (Atlas RS11s have frames that are too short)
You know if you're building a chop nose RS11, you're better off starting with buying an RS32 and swapping the long hood from an RS11 shell.

Is the model Canadian? I have a sight address for a company that produces a resin low nose/cab combination. It runs about 24$ if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the responses. I have an Atlas yellow-box high nose and wanted to create something different. I know of the short wheelbase issue of these particular Atlas versions, but I'm not that concerned (sorry to the purists). I was thinking of purchasing the RS32 parts and taking the saw to them, as suggested. But, this board is a great resource and wanted to get everyone's input first.
When I'm done with the mods, it will get a D&H paint scheme to match one of the engines in their fleet.
Frank, I'm not opposed to a resin kit - the price will probably be similar to the individual parts from Atlas.

I took the advice of the board and also ordered the RS32 frame and sill parts. I should be able to migrate the motor, trucks and driveshafts over, although I might need to use longer shafts...

there was an article in an older RMC (90's?) about low nosing a yellow box RSll to get a Lehigh Valley unit. I used it to low nose a yellow box RSD for my Mineral Range roster. Pretty straight forward chopping the nose down but had to fab a front cab wall, modify a PSC EMD light/numberboard housing, and the cab roof overhang in the front was a bit tricky....

Jake,
Thanks for the link - they currently are saying the low RS11 cab is discontinued, to be replaced by a new part!
