Those things have some great weathering and such on them. Nice paint jobs! These remind me of things that my father used to do back in the day. Back then, This was what it was all about. Now just think about all the little parts you could add to them to enhance them even more... What cha think? I sure like that black & yellow scheme, Both of them. David
Thanks for sharing these early builds. I enjoy looking at early Also builds especially when that is what you had to work with.

Up until my recent flirtation with N&W modeling, and of course my River Run, I've always been a Nickel Plate Road modeler.

Randy, I think the RSD12 would still hold it's ground today, since no one makes an accurate one. The Atlas model is just an RS11 with alco trimounts under it. It is too short, and the one you made looks to be the right length (it is longer than your RS11 in the above photo)
If they run well, why not use them?

Thanks Brian, I will use them. I have to glue parts back on like the sunshades and jacking pads that got knocked off in storage. They are powered by GSB Tan Cans so they run pretty good but a little fast because of the Model Power gearing. On the length, I built them to scale length from drawings. That's why I posed the RS-11 next to it and why they took 2 RS-11s and 1 C-628 to build. The scale drawings I used were printed backwards, so the grabs on the side of the nose are also on the wrong sides on my models. When I built these, there weren't many pics to be had. P.S. I built them before Norfolk Southern donated #329 to the Mad River Museum in Bellvue painted the same way as mine. The nose stripes on #329 were all done one at a time as that was before Microscale made their new NKP set.

nice locos - thinking of how old they are and what work it did cost to get them - Id say it's an A+!

Thank you Denis, I have them in my display case so I can look over at them while I'm watching NCIS on the tele.
