Just trying to figure out what people are doing for a decent Modern Cab unit air condtioner. Detail Associates Prime is unavailable and I have looked most everywhere for them. Walthers lists them as unknown. DW part is really not right and just wondering if anyone else has found another or even better air conditioner. I have plenty or other projects that I can do first but I will need a couple of these to do my GP38-3 and other Modern NS locos.

I have no idea what the AC unit looks like you are after, but doesn't BLMA make some "modern" AC units? Maybe check their website.

You will need the a/c unit that Athearn uses on there CR SD70's,they make the correct "modern" a/c units for the NS engines...Find someone who has that engine and they can give you the part number...i don't think Athearn has it listed on their parts page...

If you need parts from Athearn, contact the parts department direct. That is how I get my parts from them. Forget about going through Horizon. They never show any parts in stock and then I contact Athearn parts and they have plenty in stock.

I think if you resin cast a few copies of the a/c from the SD-70's that might work for you also. As long as it is for your own personal use, there is no copyright problems as far as I know, unless you make a million of them and sell the part, there won't be a problem. That is the route I took.
I have found trying to get Genesis parts is next to impossible after the loco has been out for a while.
I have been searching for a standard Genesis EMD cab for awhile and can't even get one from the SD45-2 release!

And yes BLMA has the Prime mover, and the Vapor style A/C roof units. All are nice looking once assembled. Not much to assembly either cut pieces from the Sprue bend for pre fit, Glue once dry place and glue on Loco Roof.
THe RV style as we all know are a snap, yet look nice and are used on many applications.
