I saw these plows on ebay, they seemed really crude...how is their fit and finish?

You are right Sean, they are crude but they're not the worst resin kits I've seen, but they're far from a Kaslo kit. I ordered one of the CP kits too, as it's essentially the same model and I'll make a second CN plow someday.
For the fit, you can see the strip of Bondo along the roof line, that needed to be filled the whole was along the model. The bottom of the cupola wasn't flat either, so I filed it some and will have to fill the slight seam.
As for the finish, the plow part itself is pitted from air bubbles I presume, however they aren't very deep at all and they're aren't that many of them. I actually plan to paint them a rusty brown, to match the chipped paint. The cab front at the roof was the roughest part, but I changed it to closer match the prototype so that wasn't an issue. I also went around some of the details and "straightened" the edges with an Xacto knife.
That may seem like a lot, but I only have five and a half hours total build time into it. For $25 I think they're worth the money however.

I suppose, and it is a static model for the most part...

I suppose, and it is a static model for the most part... Exactly, it's gonna sit at the back of my yard, like this: And the odd time, it will run through a snow scene on the next layout:

That is a nice model. Do they use the prototype?

They do in some parts of Canada. With the milder winters, their use is becoming less and less. I'm sure if the Roadmaster did away with his plows, and a storm hit and he had no way of clearing his main, he'd be a dead man....so the plows linger.
2 years ago, they had to plow London East yard (and they had the audacity to recall me after 3 months of layoff, for 3 days til they got caught up after the storm.)
it was the first time since I lived in London (25 years) that they ever plowed the yard.

Really late to the party but some really good CN plow decals are Greg Komar ones. They used to be dry transfer which are the last ones I used but I see he has changed over to wet slide decals www.tmrdistributing.com/images/komar-cn118.jpgRic

Decided to make some plows from a Walther's plow using some Shapeways parts. Here's the first one.
