Just wondering how many of you have the Rivorossi/Lima ALCO C-420s. I have three of them painted in River Run. They always ran pretty good for me, but sometimes they would spark or hesitate on a Peco switch frog. These have a full metal frame/walkway, and are good pullers.

Here's two of my three that I painted up for D&H about ten years ago ! Only upgrade was a set of NWSL nickel silver wheels and DCC, and they are still turning revenue miles. Mark. Attachments:

I bet that took a bunch of grinding, that's some strong metal.

Both of the Rivarossi units never seemed to run worth a poop.

My three Rivarossi / MRC units run really well. Not quite as well with the original brass wheels though - the NWSL nickel silver replacements made a big difference.

I had one of the MRC/Lima locomotives, it ran like a champ. However it got traded for a old Rivorossie N&W Y6.

When I had my big club layout, I always treated the rails with Wahl Hair Clipper Oil, so I never had the problems many people mention.

Thanks Jackrabbit. I did that on purpose. I took Santa Fe boxcar logos and cut them into 4 pieces, then put RRC&S letters inside.
