Hi All, My little photo diorama is nearing completion, so I thought I'd post a photo of some of my engines on it. The photo shows three of the units belonging to RailAmerica shortline Goderich-Exeter, which runs from Goderich to Georgetown Ontario (with trackage rights on CN to Toronto, and branches to Exeter and London). The first is GEXR 3835, an ex-GM&O GP38AC, custom painted (though it needs a bit of work at the moment). The second is an Intermountain ex-CN FP9; currently, both of their F's are stored bad order in Goderich with draft gear problems (they've actually been sold to Sterling Rail). The last one is a P2K GP38-2, custom painted for LLPX 2210, one of two yellow and grey GP38-2's on lease to the railroad. They seem to operate primarily out of Kitchener/Guelph. The FP9 dates this consist to about 2005 or so, before it was stored. I only saw it once, but it was parked that day, not running. The 3835 was subsequently moved to another RailAmerica shortline, Southern Ontario Rail, in Hamilton/Hagersville, and then to Ottawa Valley Railink, after they had a washout and wrecked a couple of units. One of the guys that I know who works for RA said the 3835 "had trouble pulling itself"! The 2210 is still on GEXR, one of five four-axle engines remaining in operation. In addition to these, I'm also working on GEXR 3821 (similar to 3835), RLK 2211 (an ex-CP GP35), and RLK 4096 (an ex-CN GP40). I'll post photos of these when I have more time. Thanks for your interest, Robert, Kevin. The 3835 started out as an Atlas Master Line Undec that I bought from a LHS just before they closed down, a couple of years ago. I painted the red, then used the bottom of the radiator grills as a guide to mask off for the grey. I love paint schemes with simple separation between the colours! The decals were a mixed bag, with some dry transfers included as well (for the road numbers on the cab sides - I needed something with a heavier font than anything else I could find). After that, it was pretty straight foward to put together. The engine was in Hamilton for a short time, so I was able to get some prototype photos of the real thing; at the time, it have a yellow snowplow, so that's why mine is yellow. It has since been painted black, so I might do that too. The P2K GP38-2 was pretty easy as well. First the yellow (Tamiya colours for both units), and then the grey. This one stated out as a BNSF engine that I stripped and primered. Interestingly, the unit has no rear number boards in prototype, so decalling was pretty easy (Highball Graphics set used). The main thing on this one was that I didn't have the right size fuel tank, so I sliced and diced the original and shortened it to the right size. The FP9 was the easiest - just walk into the hobby store, pay and bring it home... I do plan to weather it a bit one of these days though. On another note, I finished up the decalling on GEXR 3821, (similar to 3835), so I'll post some photos shortly of it. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Peter.

Great Work, Glad to see another modeler of the GEXR! I have modeled a few units off of their roster, HLCX SD40-2CLC #6091 & HLCX SD40M-3 #6522. I had a few of the red n grey GP units to but I sold them on ebay...

Nice to see some GEXR power. I did the 4022 when the "New" Atlas GP40 first came out.
