Well, if you guys can stand another tuxedo covered wagon, here's the one I'm working on: The unit being modeled is #4226, as seen on page 25 of Gilbert & Jeffrey's "Crossties Over Saluda". I'm using the Highliner shell of course, with the usual Overland, Details West, and Precision Scale Details. I don't have a picture yet, but I have taken a hacksaw and file to a Genesis drive so that it will accept and I-beam frame and Hi-tech fuel tank brackets, fuel tank, and battery box/air tank. I'm debating replacing the Genesis cab interior with the old Keystone F-unit interior also. This is the first time I have gotten this far with the Highliner kit, and I must say that while some of the details such as the front cut bar are nerve-trying, once completed are quite inpressive and worth the effort. Thanks for the kind words, Stephen. The piping on the roof is cooling coils for the powerplant itself; Southern's F's and those of other roads sported them...as far as how they worked on the prototype I would have to leave that to Mr. Harpe or one of the other wise elders to explain that, LOL.

You might have a small issue with the Keystone interior...those include a special "low-profile" worm gear cover...for the old BB trucks. The Genesis trucks might be too tall for the interior to fit without modification. Thanks for the heads up, Robert...what I may do is use the Genesis floor and bulkhead and substitute the molded seats and control stand for the white metal ones from the Keystone set...still debating on whether it would be worth the trouble for as much of it would be visible through the windows... One other thing I'm considering: the prototype picture I'm using shows the unit with an open front MU door; that would involve cutting a hole in the nose, boxing it in, and installing the DW MU connection and field box from the F-unit Detail set, along with a photoetched MU door...just not sure if I have the nerve to take a blade to the shell or not, LOL. It would be a detail you don't see modeled very often though....

looks great, Tuxedos or Blondes, as long as it is an F or E unit, I like what I see. great job
