Well this is the starting point for my cheap build. This is an Athearn RTR GP35. It is ex-nyc 6126 from series nyc 6126-6155 (31). These were the only GP35s that did not have dynamic brake. The other 119 units were ex-PRR, and did have dynamic brake. P

I think you mean the only PC GP35's without the dynamic brake. All the Ann Arbor GP35's were non-dynamic.

What do you plan to add or change? Regards, Brian I really dont like the pilot and step wells, other than that I think it looks fine. Of course there will be the normal super detailing. P

well crap!
I just ordered 100.00 worth of parts for my cheap build, that already cost me 63.00. But oh well. At least I will have a really nice GP35 when its done. P

Heh, I just picked up an RTR Athearn GP35, non dynamic, in DT&I orange, for $15.00. Used, it didn't run and one of the rear sideframes wouldn't stay on... until I disassembled the rear truck and found that the sideframe "pin" had migrated into the truck and was locking the gears. Cleaned it out, fixed the sideframe, runs good now.
And much like you, I'm wanting to add a whack of Cannon parts to it... in my case the finished product will be NBSR GP38-3 (ex-SP GP35) 9802.

What is your parts list for the GP35? I plan to build a Mopac GP35 and a Mopac GP28 using the Athearn RTR GP35 as starting points and a parts list would be helpful in my construction. Thank you.
