Nothing special about this one, here we have a blue box GP50 i bought from the states, bought simply for the frame and trucks for another project. Once i saw the body it would have been criminal to break it for parts, how ever there was no handrails at all with it, searching my scrap box i came up with enough smoky valley stanchions to fit out the end of the long hood and part of the front hood. But i did find some connector strips i found in the scrap bin at work these are rectangular in section and the same width as the standard Athearn stanchions just needed a nice tight bend and cutting to length, the hand rails were bent from brass wire after studying various photos, im quite pleased with the result, they may be a little over size but once paint was applied they look good.

Should have mentioned it is now powered by a Genesis motor and its ready for a decoder, i had to make some shorter drive shafts with some plastic tube which were glued and pinned to the originals all topped off with a coat of dirty black paint. In the bottom of the photo you can see the connectors i cut up for the hand rail stanchions they are actually Gold plated steel, could be the stanchions are worth more then the loco. ;D ;D ;D
