I just wanted to say hello to everyone on here to get started with.I'm retired from CN after 35yrs and now enjoy my time off(ya right)more work now than I did when I was working.I have a shelf layout in my office that's a work in progress and have a project that's going to be a while to complete that being a gmd-1 but I guess that's what makes this hobby fun and interesting.

Thankyou,everyone for the welcoming.
Peir I worked on the Great Lakes Region out of Sarnia and started out as a Yard Helper, then Foreman,Yardmaster,Trainmaster,Conductor so I did a little bit of everything while I was there.
Jeff the gmd is in the very early stages of this project, trying to find parts for it right now and am not having great success although I keep looking at all the shows I go to and maybe someday sooner than later I 'll find some.Don't even mention brass because it's just too expensive and I'm amazed that no manufacturer has ever produced one in plastic so far.
From the brief looking around yesterday the detail work that I've seen is just amazing,so I guess your never too old to learn.
Catch you all later.

Welcome fellow CN fan. I, too, am from SW Ontario, but unfortunately never worked for the railroad. You are right, there are some amazing units (and craftsmen) here on this forum. I just joined recently and visit it every day. As you can see by my username and avitar, my main interests are CN widecabs. In fact, my latest purchase just came in at the hobby shop. I can't wait to get started on this Kaslo SD60F. Good luck with your GMD-1 and again, welcome.
