Use family initials or something close to your holding company for your railroad.
My lease service is CLPX "Central Leasing Properties" Its initials of someone close to me, but it fit. The holding company of the CIOR is "Central Corp" Making it fit is the most reasonable way to make it REAL.

I used my initials. "D" "R" the letter "L" for leasing and finally the letter "X" which designates a non-railroad owned corporation. So my private leasing company reporting marks are "DRLX"

Mine is Essex-Kent Short Line (EKSL) - This works out great for me - EK are my initials, Essex is the county I live in Ontario, Kent county is the next one over where my fictitious short line terminates. I got decals made up by Rail Graphics. Paint scheme went thru numerous changes before I decided upon this one. The road number is the year when my grandson Lucas was born.

My leasing company, Transportaion Resources (TREX), is modeled on the concept of RELCO, which specialized on old Alco switchers until recent years. TREX primary leasing power is Baldwin switchers, with a few Baldwin roadswitchers thrown in. Until Baldwins become unavailable, no plans have been made to add other makes. With most being leased to industrial users and terminal roads, the units aren't used too hard, and Baldwins had a reputation for toughness. Purchased units are patched until they need an overhaul, at which time they get the corporate TREX colors. Some are repainted to the specs of the company leasing them, but this is an extra cost service.

Heh - the Intercolonial moose. He gets around, eh? Last time I saw him was on a bottle of Moosehead beer.
CNwidecabnut, your paint scheme is dangerously close to the GTER's scheme. Same shade of light blue, same yellow stripe. Only with the GTER, we start with a light blue painted carbody, then add two yellow stripes about 3/4 up the long hood. Over top of those two yellow stripes we paint a dark blue stripe, within the dark blue stripe the lettering Grafton Terminal Ry. is printed in yellow. And we have a 2000 number class, reserved for 2000 HP units like GP20's and GP38's.
Grafton Terminal also rebuilds and leases locomotives, under the GTMX reporting mark (Grafton Terminal Motive power) if in Canada and the ATLX (Atlas Leasing Services) mark in the USA.
