For my WSOR GP7u's, I want to model after i have moved , I need their special cabs. Here some pics from the first soldered cab. The 4 screens on the nickel silver sheet are for a P2K GP9 or GP18 as a replacment for their ugly parts like the one on the right. These pics are made before i have cleaned the soldering. Some measures needed to be changed a little and I've put together some parts. So the new cab will be much easier to solder. . When this one is etched and soldered, i place some new pics.

Can't wait to see the updates. I think soldering like that is a little beyond my abilities right now (though I've never tried it), but the end result is outstanding looking. Even if its not cleaned up yet.

Jorge,
Would you be willing to do a set for me. Ordered a cab kit from Perry, but still waiting on them to become available. What I'm really interested in is the screen for the sides. Plano Models was doing a set but no idea when or if they are to be done.

The new version has arrived and was built. Better but not good enough. The Cab is now OK but not the number board. The older one was the better version. So I changed the mask and ordered it again. So the next pics will follow.

Are you using a resistance soldering unit?

Randy,
I'm using a simple 40W soldering iron and a flame for larger parts. Plus soldering fluid and a SMD solder paste.

I have a large resistance soldering unit. It looks like a welder, lol. Everytime I use it the lights in the room dim. I still hate soldering though.

Who makes this kit? I know that Santa Fe Prototypes was working on one, but it hasn't been released yet.......so I've been told.

Your right, Uncle Jay.
I'm actually waiting for the next sheet. I hope, this version will be without mistakes. Then you will see the next pics.
And there is no problem for me to share these etched parts or the GP screens.

I'm sorry that this post took so long, but the new job needs more of my time I thought. But it is good to have it after 5 years without one. It's ready and the final version has been delivered today: cab for a GP7u Santa Fe style It will fit to the P2K shell. I hope i soon find the time to show the model with it.
