Having just recently purchased one of the Bowser's new C630's, I realized I needed another ALCo to run with it and remembered I had an "undec" (actually ex-ESPEE) C628 along with most of the detail parts in the pile. So how about an ex-PC C628? www.rr-fallenflags.org/cr/cr6744wba.jpgOther pictures of CR 6744 showed where the crew had removed most of the paint over the "PENN CENTRAL" on the hood sides, hence the title. Also, I plan on cutting out the radiator top (with the molded-on walkway) and replacing it with a new radiator and see-thru walkway. James Bilbrey LaVergne, TN

I thought about that one since it was wrecked on the L&N. By that point, ALCo was out of the locomotive business, so GE got the task of rebuilding it. The story goes that ESPEE was less than pleased when they got the locomotive back like that. Still, I would have to build the new equipment box behind the engineer's side of the cab. Yet, I don't have a problem with rebuilding the radiator...go figure.

Well, CR 6744 is ready for the paint shop. Replacing the radiator was a "challenge". I'm glad that I won't be doing that again. I'll try to get some pictures and a write-up on the Century page soon (especially when I get a chance to paint it).
