Hello All,
Just happened upon this awesome site while surfing for ideas. My name is Evan and I live in Windsor, Ontario. I certainly love to detail locomotives. In fact, I'm one of those people who have 15 units in various states of completion, and about 5 cars (with just a test track so far). As you can see from my username, my main interests are CN widecab units. I've finished a C44-9W with the correct cab, have 2 SD40-2W's started, ordered a Kaslo SD-60F, and just about completed a VIA P-42DC. I've been 'back' into model rr'ing for about a year - after about a 20 year hiatus. If I can figure out how to post pictures, I will. Hope you all have a great day.
Evan

Okay, lets try this picture thing . . . This was my first project since I gave it up. I just love the big units and this was on eBay Athearn factory painted. When I received it and compared it to actual pictures, well I couldn't leave it alone. Evan

Hey it worked !!! Here's a couple of pics of the VIA unit I just finished and an Atlas SD-35 painted in my private road and named after my grandson... Note the box behind the front truck on the P42DC. This was scratchbuilt. Does anyone know what this is on the prototype? Evan

The box behind the lead truck looks like an air filter setup...

Hi Stephen (PEIR) - I simply made a rectangular standoff to mount an MBE horn. Looking back, I probably should/could have tapered it, just like the prototype. I'll probably revisit that tonight.
