I didn't really see any bad comments, other than the questions about kitbash vs. scratchbuilt. I'm still confused on the difference.
Her model is excellent, I just wish there was more on how she made the whole SDP45. I'd like to make a few someday as well (albiet, probably not as detailed)

Back in the old days (even before me) scratch building consisted of taking a bunch of raw material and creating something from it.
Now today (according to me) it consists of taking a bunch of finely crafted bits and pieces (sometimes from the builder themselves) and crating something from it.
There is no way you can equate Elizabeth's SDP45 with kit bashing because for one thing she did not start with a kit.Now my SDP45 definitely is a kit bash being made from a RPP SD45 and a RPP GP35.
The only thing the two SDP45s have in common is they are both SDP45s.

I had the opportunity to see what I believe to be some of Ms. Allen's work at a train show in the Anaheim Convention Center several years ago at the Cannon booth. I was taken aback at how beautiful all of them were done. Since one of the things I've been taught is to never try to guess a woman's age I will say that there was a lady at the booth who told me they were her models. I remarked how gorgeous they were and remember her smile. At this point my then 1 year old son and 3 year old daughter tugged me away to another exhibit; possibly the Thomas the Tank Engine one and I didn't have a chance to swing back by the Cannon booth. Looking back now, I'm sure that was Ms. Allen.
I read all the comments on the NMRA link and I can truly say how disappointed I am in reading some of them. To call her work a kit-bash is a disgrace. I am sure now that I want nothing to do with the NMRA and their obsolete way of thinking. The attitude of some of the posters represents the true essence of the "model train geek" which probably keeps a lot of youth from joining the hobby because they do a great job in making it not "cool". What a disservice they are doing in promoting the growth of the hobby.
I'm pretty new on this board but I do like the positive attitude I see along with all the encouragement. So in closing to all those naysayers out there, if you don't have anything nice to say, please by all means shut the hell up.
My $.02

All I can say is that as a NMRA member, I don't like the comments regarding her model. I am also the president of the Mid Continent Prototype Modelers show, and I would love to have her there with her models. I love our RPM meet because it is so low pressure with absolutely no judging. We welcome all models regardless of scale. All we ask is that you detail or paint, or just do something to it other then pulling it out of the box. I don't mind some "pointers" when talking about my stuff from other modelers as I am usually giving them a hard time in a good way also. I wish I had the skills and the time to make models like her and others on this site. Well any way enough soap box. Glenn Hoover

Those self inflated MMA Characters should be ashamed of themselves. I applaud Liz for doing what she has done in a male dominated hobby. She is better at detailing than most of us, (myself included) and she has inspired me to do better. I'd like to see one of us guys do half the things our wives can do.
