Northern Cambria Railroad a.k.a. NCRAIL was formed in 1995 after purchasing Conrail's Clearfield cluster of tracks (owned in the present day by RJ Corman's Cresson Division). NCRAIL owns and operates two ex-Conrail GP9's (numbers 100 and 101), an ex-Conrail GP38-2 (number 500), two ex-EMD/SOO/Milwaukee SD40-2's (to be built at a later date), a matching roadmate (CSX style, to be built at a later date), an ex-Conrail extended vision cabin. The railroad's main revenue is coal, as they lease one-hundred 100 Ton Open Hoppers from BSIX (ex-Cambria and Indiana hoppers). The railroad also hauls lumber, brick, and rock salt. Pictured below are the two GP9's (Proto 2000 models), the GP38-2 (Athearn BB model), and the extended vision cabin (Athearn BB model). All photos were taken on at the AAMR club layout in Altoona, PA.
