Hello folks, Been away again for sometime and thought I'd share another little project the Sand Hill and Western Shops are procuring for motive power. I was at the local hobby shop, rummaging around thru their junk bins (like any low budget model railroader ) and stumbled across this little beauty. An old Hobbytown S3 long hood, with the front platform atleast. The whole side facing the camera where the stairs meets the long hood was completely sheered off, and seperate. After a 5 sec glue job, the rebuild has begun. This is what will hopefully emerge in a few weeks. I am basically building the whole Cab end with styrene and making a standard EMD style cab without windows, as well as going to have to kitbash a new Cab end stair section, and fit to a modified dummy chassis. Enjoy!

Thanks Guys. Hope to start ordering some parts soon. That Cab end really rook a beating from its last owner. Not sure if he started to remove the long hood and had to sell stuff, or if it was a piece of a junk drawer. Gonna be interesting atleast.

Yea that MILW Slug idea is great. I am still waiting on some casting supplies from the local hobby shop to I can cast the rear stair section. Looks like I am going to have to build the chassis from Plastruct and also its gonna have EMD style trucks. Its'll definately be a home shop creation

Unfortunately, this project is not gonna be continued. I am having trouble with the resin and creating good looking molded parts. I did however, manage to score a newer GP7, that is going into slug form.
