WOW. It going to be a nice roster. ;D ;D ;D the red behind the cab. ;D ;D I usually paint my engines in zebra scheme and I have done this mistake one or twice when I had to paint an North American scheme. Éric

Steve - they are looking fantastic! Did you miss the red on CN long hood right behind the cab? Éric, Mike, yes that's the spot but it is solved now... ...don't know what I was thinking, probably not that much

I wish I had the patience for this kind of thing. It's just too small... Looks great though!

thanks Anthony... it would be too easy if all the needed decals would be available from the usual suspects. unfortunately Microscale has the modern EJ&E decals only in H0 available, for N scale it's DYO... the only decal from Microscale I will use is the The J logo, all the other decals I will print with an Alps... the yellow-white sill stripes (for #662 and #666) all the cab numbers for the orange ones... plus the decals for the in CN colors painted EJ&E loki (the modern CN logo I got from Highball Graphics / MGDecals)

You're really doing a great job.
My best friend began his railroad career with the J and I bet he'd love to see these!

thanks Dave... EJE #662 has really bad looking logos, faded and scratched and the orange in The J is long gone. the Microscale decals are nice and crisp (ok, not magnified but when aplied to the model) and instead to print new logos I just printed The J white and aplied it on top of the Microscale logo. the one on the nose is just faded, to get the scratched and faded look on the long hood logo I scratched the Microscale decal first with a glass eraser and then aplied it to the shell and on top of that the white The J and that is how it looks...

ok, just something simple while I am finishing the models. three of the orange ones I am building have black walkways (actually 4, the CN one is black as well) to paint the top of the boxes black but to keep the locks orange (or red) would be very difficult with masking in N scale so I decided to draw a little decal for that part... first I used a scanned sill as a template to draw the decals... printed and put onto the model...

My friend checked out this project as a 'guest' the other day-he said you've got them spot-on! He also said he's never seen someone model the Q-tron cables, either. Just thought you'd like to know, and again great work!

Wow Steve, that is some stunningly impressive work, from the ditch lights to the trucks to all the other details. And using the screws for the air driers is absolutely brilliant! Keep up the fine work, my friend!
Best, Ed
