I have two Cheap Builds on my bench to get going. I recently got a few Proto 2000 SD60's for ten bucks a pop. the two I am going to work on are a EMD Demo #4 and a CNW #8017. Being a BN modeler I hope to use these as run through power on trains. I'll post some pictures next week. Just thought I would do a little teaser starting thread for you all. I plan on keeping the detail costs under $60 per loco since I only paid $10 for each! So it is a kind of cheap build.

That's a great price! I though I was doing well with my 20 quid genesis, but 10 dollars is cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!

Yeah the only thing wrong with them when I bought them was some dust on the shell! I'd say it was a steal at that price.

I got them from a good friend of mine. He had a bunch that he didn't really want to keep them. He sold them to me at the friend price. I did also get an Oakway SD60 P2K from him awhile ago for $20 so his prices are pretty nice.

We all need friends like that! Out of spite, I think Randy should kick this out of the "cheap builds section."

LOL, I do have all the parts I need to start. I think I'll do seperate threads per locomotive since I am not building them at the same time. But yeah it is "lucky price" cheap build.
