Very nice! Please keep the size of your photos down to 900 pixels wide and make sure you leave a space mark between text and photos so they don't all jumble together. Thanks for joining!

Well you can start with a Athearn or Kato SD40-2.You will also need a Cannon&Co short high hood,Cannon&Co roof material blank,Cannon doors and some styrene sheet to use as a filler between the nose and body... You need to cut the cab, nose, and sub-base(maybe) off and sand smooth. If you cut the sub-base off also you will need to fill in the walkway area with the styrene. Build the Cannon nose. Once you have the nose assembled and the walkway filled and smooth you can attach the nose to the walkway. When that is dry decide if you want doors or whatever and use the styrene to fill between the nose and body..After that it is pretty much up to you on the detailing... Here is a pic of the one I am building for my own road.....

I love that "raking collision" dent in the fuel tank! Nicely done!

antlorch, why didn't you remove the cab sub base? is the prototype like that? not that it doesn't look great, i just noticed it being different in yours & darkhourses.
did the southern RR ever have any of these? i haven't been able to find any information on them. thanks

i didn't think so, but i think I'll still do one up. either a SD40-2 or a SD45. maybe both. i do Norfolk southern & the southern RR both, one of each would be sweet.

Mmm, nothing like a high hood, especially a high hood B unit!

I am kinda freelancing mine closely following the BNSF 7501 which has the battery boxes still on it. I am going to be starting an SD60B pretty soon (soon as I get some other projects painted) and that unit will not have battery boxes but straight walkways.
