Last November I wondered out to Tooele's industrial park (ex USA TEAD)which is switched out by the US Army. They roster four 80 ton General Electric center cabs and one EMD/IC GP11. The 80 tonners grew on me so I done some research, and I can make a fairly nice looking 80 ton from the cab and hoods from a 44 tonner and place it onto a 70 ton walkway and underframe. So far I have the holes filled that I don't need and the holes that I do need pre drilled. Tonight I am planning on andding the lights, then removing the rest of the walkway on the 44 tonner, then remove the cab and hood from the 70 ton model. I'll see if I can post pictures later of my progress.

Started to remove the walkway last week, and I took off a little too much, so another contribution to Bachmann for another shell. Tonight I will work on the the lower half, walkway and below off the 70 ton model. Damn the luck

Hello Detailers, Done some more work on USAX 1646, removed the pilots, filed down the journal box, drilled out holes on the air tanks and added an air filter on the 70 ton.

In this view of the 44 tonner shell, I have added puddy to the hoods, drilled out holes for the horn, warning light stand, mirror, exhaust stacks and breathers and rebuilt the headlight housing.
