I've been working on a NS B32-8. Where is the bell located on these units?

I think it's down by the fuel tank on the left side. Have you done a search for pics of the prototype?

I've checked lots of pictures. Can't find a bell. The 6 axle units have it mounted on the front of the fuel tank, in plain view. I'm thinking maybe there's an electronic bell tucked in behind a step well.

The only NS units I've seen with electronic bells are the SD-70M's. There's a good shot in Diesel Era, V14-6 p46. Back when the B32-8's were delivered a regular bell near the fuel tank would have been standard. I guess I don't need a bell on this model, but it would be nice to know.

The bell on the B32-8's is located directly above the air reservoir on the fireman's side of the locomotive.

Check out www.nsdash9.com/ It's Chris Toth's website. There are some marvelous detail shots of GE's as well as EMDs by Bob Harpe posted here. It's nearly all down at the bottom of the detail page but you'll find helpful shots of B32-8s 3539 & 3566 there.
