I have a few questions regarding Norfolk Southern freight equipment. When I first started doing a lot of railfanning in the early '90s, I remember seeing a lot of freight cars still painted for Southern and N&W. Many were painted in what I have heard referred to as the "Claytor" font. Still others were painted with the NS logo but with either SOU or NW reporting marks. Can anyone help me get a better idea of the various NS paint schemes as well as when they were used? What are the best sources of research material on NS freight equipment? Finally, I am looking for decals for NS equipment. I am familiar with Microscale, ShellScale, and Islington Station. Can anyone suggest another source for NS decals? Thanks. Charlie

Shell Scale has by far the most accurate decals, and his sets come with great guides for placement, the one I just bought for the straight cab dash 9s has something around 80 decals and all had placement pictures.
