Just thinking out loud here but say for instance that back in 88 when SP and DRGW mergered that instead of keeping with the SP paint sceme (sorry SP fans) that the new rr changed its image to golden west service. the same GWS paint sceme and logo that so many boxcars and covered hoppers wear now. just picture how a GWS tunnel motor, AC4400 or GP35e would look. let me know what you think.

Well figuring that the GWS and SP where owned by Philip Anschutz (this is the story i have gotten from the SP oldheads out here on the UP). He took a bunch of "old" cars (which they where not) as surplus and sold the to the GWS,repainted them and leased them back to the SP.So Anchutz made money on the sale and then was making money on leasing them back to the SP..
You got do the same with engines I would imagine. It sounds plausable to me... I would like to see that though... The same blue body, maybe a white cab roof, black underframe, tank and trucks.. OK Paulie here you go,one for you to do...
