The kit came with the IC decals.... but I don't know if they had them or not....haven't been able to find one anywhere on the web. I checked all the sites I could think of. Finding pics of all-doors is difficult enough as it is... I have a folder with about 35 or so cars...some of the same initials...

I have a RMC with a Thrall-Door boxcar article. The first picture is of an orange ICG All-Door car numbered 599900. (I'll try and scan it in but its bundled into a hardbound cover along with a bunch of others)
Other railroads that owned Thrall cars were Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Ry, Green Bay & Western, Illinois Terminal, Minnesota, Dakota & Western, and British Columbia Hydro.

I'd love to see the photo you have BCrail.... If nothing else, maybe you could take a picture of the picture...?

Build one of those once and you'll never be afraid of a kit again. I did a 4-door 86' auto parts box like that, and it's best described as scratchbuilding with two end castings and a set of instructions. Just use lots of sanding sealer and steel wool before painting!

Thanks so much BCrail....that is the "proof" I needed. That is the first pic I've seen of one of these in IC orange. Is there any info on the number series that these ran in?

You think there would be some info, unfortunately, there isn't.

You might be able to find more info on the car in a copy of the Official Railway Equipment Register. Is there anything on the decal or instruction sheet to indicate what year it was built? I have some older copies of the ORER we could use to look up the number series.

I can't remember what city I was in, but I saw two of these type cars with all the doors taken off, in a BNSF yard.
There is a Good Year plant in I believe Lake Charles, LA that uses these cars a lot.

There is a Firestone plant in Sulphur LA. Amazing build, I almost got one of these kits, now I regret not making that purchase.

I've got one car from the old run and 3 from the newest run. I must say, the difference in details in huge.
