My RR actually is several RRs, both model and prototype. The Maryland & West Virginia is the major road featured, but the following other roads are also on the layout:
West Virginia Midland narrow gauge Western Maryland West Virginia Northern (model-WM subsidiary) Allegheny Midland Maryland & Allegheny Baltimore & Ohio Pickens & Webster Springs (unbuilt prototype) Pittsburgh Southern (model-B&O subsidiary)
The layout is mostly steam era and early diesel. Once things are done, I will be able to operate in eras from late 40's to late 50's.
It's set in Central and Northern West Virginia, so lots of trees. I love scenery, so that works for me.
I thank lots of people for inspiration and encouragement:
The late Mark Biggart (Pittsburgh Southern) The late Tom Rimer (a master structure builder) Jon R. Gearhart (M&WV's electrical whiz) Allen McClelland Tony Koester Steve Sherrill (SG&S narrow gauge which runs in P&WS territory) Lee Weldon (former fellow club member and prolific WM modeler) Dennis Williams (former fellow club member and custom painter) Bruce Pfeiffer (Baltimore County PD officer and custom painter) Chaz Hammond (a tremendous modeler in several scales)
