nice critter, great use for it, love those box cabs, I recall seeing a build on one back in the 70's, it would be fun to scratch build one, used archer rivets, grant line windows and sheet plastic, hhhhhmmmmmm, well my plates are too full at the moment anyway.

That is a neat little boxcab. I have one that I converted to rubber belt drive. I made a pulley out of the large bull gear and re-motored it using a CD changer motor with a pulley on it. It runs alot quieter now.

Could you show a pictures of the motor and gear box and frame. I have a few boxcab and they all don't run to good and I like to re motor them. But it has been on the back burner until I can find a way to redo them. Thanks
Don.

I built a pair of N- SCALE Boxcab loco's using a pair of Bachmann six wheel MDT Plymouth industrial switcher shells, chassis's and a caboose. I am working on 6 more. Pictures will follow..

Sorry I have been away for a while. I will see if I have any pics of the motor and chasis. Thinking I am going to change to the bachmann 70 ton frame for smoother and quieter running.

I've seen some shots of someone who remotored one with an Athearn SW7 chassis, but IIRC they had to shorten it down a bit.
Might be an option worth looking at if you can find one cheap.
