Hello all. While I was exhibiting Sweethome Chicago at Manchester Model Railway show last weekend (2nd and 3rd October 2010), I got my son Steve to shoot some video showing the layout in its natural environment. Whilst my operators and I take our modelling seriously (John Wright had his 'Federal St' in MR May 2003, and Phil Baggley had 'The Bullmoose' in MR Sept 2000), we are not averse to having a bit of fun during exhibitions and entertaining the public, as I hope this video shows. I hope the video gives some idea about how Sweethome Chicago is normally operated, for the benefit of folks who can't get over to a British exhibition and see it in person. Jon

Jon,
Hey, how did you convince Bango Wright to play for you? I hadn't thought about John in awhile, and seeing your video, reminded me of his visits to the states - he came over for a couple of RPM meets (well, I am sure that was not the only reason he came here on holiday) and it was neat to see the P87 stuff he was doing. Too bad the cat pee'd all over his converted 0-6-0.
Nice video, say hi to Bango Wright for me. Brian Everett

Jon, Too bad the cat pee'd all over his converted 0-6-0. Nice video, say hi to Bango Wright for me. Brian Everett ;D I remember the cat pee incident. My cats tend to eat the 'sea moss' trees. I'll be running a lot of my stock on John's club layout 'Westmorland Junction' next month - it's not often I get to run long trains. I'll say 'Hi' for you. Jon
