Good afternoon:
Here is my first project that I ever worked on, back in 1995.
It's an Athearn blue box GP60, for EMD, and it's the number 7.
This engine is not proto-typically correct, but for me, it wasn't bad.
The cab and nose are wrong, as they are rounded over in real life, plus have a cluster of lights, similiar to the SP.
Unfortunately, back in 1995, I had no pictures of the prototype or access to the correct cab, which would have been a lot of work for me back then. So I based the cab of the Oakway SD60's, and to me, is better than just leaving it as is.
I installed coupler lift bars, the horn, mu hoses, plow, and I used some styrne for the angled gumball bracket, and then grab irons and lift rings.
Then I recently added ditch lights, and a digitrax decoder.
It's currently coupled to a BNSF GP60B, on loan from BNSF.
I'll get some pics of that up soon.
Thanks for looking, and reading!
Matt
