Many updates to the railfan site since I last posted, and our chief mechanical officer has been cranking out several unique builds, from a dynamic brake equipped slug to a kitbashed rotary plow to transfer hacks.

Currently the modular layout is in Macon, GA in the same building as the Central Georgia Model Railroad Club. There is just enough room for the loop to fit, when we get to adding the branchlines there will be a space issue.
We have finally decided on a general paint scheme and number sequence for the Penn York Railroad roster. Since the mods are co-owned, we are combining equipment from several fleets. It is slowly coming together, and we have a ton of work ahead. I am currently wrist deep in steel mill kits, just finished an Electric Arc Furnace and have a rolling mill in several stages of construction on the desk right now.
My counterpart in this madness has been spending the little free time we have on kitbashing, such as the rotary plow above. I will post pics of the units pre-kitbash for you when I get them uploaded. The rotary plow was an Athearn, the caboose cupola and the b - unit were old AHM kits...? I will get details tomorrow for you.

The original components of the kitbashed rotary, minus the cupola off an old caboose. The Union Pacific b unit and caboose were from AHM. It still needs a bit of filing down and the flanger blade put on.

Just a random update... the mods are on a temporary hiatus due to our clubs' facility being condemned, so what else would we do but get to work on the home layout? More pics and updates on the RF.net thread. It's an attempt at a three tier layout with no helix's, using a 2% grade to transition between tiers. Major industries will be a paper mill, gravel pit, EAF steel mill, grain mill, coal power plant, and several other businesses served by four railroads (PYR mainline, ALY, B&P, and NS).
