Here's something I've been working on for my Baldwin powered subsidiary.

The mid-70's. Some of the Baldwin fleet is already gone, replaced by SD-39's and SD-39-2's. The rest will be gone in a few years. Time marches on and all that rot. But for now, some still survive....
The scheme shown is as delivered, kind of a cross between the Durham & Southern paint lines and the Wayerhauser colors. Units painted after about 1969 will have a simplified scheme, and the SD's will be painted like the SPSL units but with green (a hair darker than the Illinois Terminal) replacing the SPSL blue.

Just a few additions for this scheme. I was going for a cream color on the accent - not sure of the exact shade I will settle on. Possibly even a RDG yellow...
Also, while the underfame looks gray, it represents a weathered black. You loose the detail lines with a black on these drawings.

When/where is your road located, rf? The prototype Minnesota Midland was a narowguage line running from Wabasha MN to Zumbrota MN along the Zumbro River. The Milwaukee took it over, standard guaged it around 1903-1904, and extended it to Fairbault MN. In my proto-freelanc world, my SPSL purchased it instead, standarguaged it, and greatly expanded it south to Iowa and west to near the border withthe Dakotas. Along the way it was used to run various other light traffic lines controlled by SPSL Wow, that's what my railroads named

My Minnesota Midland is about a "7 degree in the protolance*" scale. It is a modern regional Railroad in MN and WI, And is owned by East West Rail holdings a short line railroad company.
Runs from Superior WI in the east to Brooten MN in the west, And from Aitkin MN in the north to 10th Ave in St Paul in the south. Tracks are ex GN,NP,& SOO.
Locomotives are in an attractive Gold and Maroon (like TC&W).
Hope this helps.
* degree of protolance is how accurate you model or model railroad is, degree 1 is all made up,and degree 10 is completely accurate.

Interesting concept for what I assume is a modern shortline. My modeling interest is more in the mid-70's. The SPSL a small class one with a heavily Alco roster. The M&StL is our largest subsidiary, and is mostly EMD. The Minnesota Midland is Primarily Baldwin powered, with SD-39 and 39-2 starting to take over.
No reason we can't use the same name. Musta been in an alternate reality.
