I recently dug out an Athearn blue box CN C44-9W. Then I looked at photos of these units. It's clear that the Athearn loco doesn't come close to matching the CN units. At the very least, a completely new cab is needed. What I'm wonder is, does anybody make a cab for these? I'm thinking of something similar to Cannon & Co. EMD cabs.
Thanks for the help. Kerry

Kaslo makes a cab kit for BCR and CN C44-9W's, Jim at Highball Graphics might have some in stock.

You'll need a Kaslo Shops cab, as bcrail has indicated. They can either be the two window or four window version, depending on which locomotive you're modelling. As well, you'll want the Kaslo Shops 9-44cw detail set, which includes anticlimbers and ditch lights cast in resin.
The cabs are expensive, but they're nice. Interiors are included, along with sinclair antennas, locotrol antennas, and cab sunshades. No windows....you'll have to make them yourself.
Good luck with your model.

Thanks for the info guys. I wasn't familiar with Kaslo Shops. I've got another question. What do you use for head light lenses when you want them lit? I've used silver-backed lenses from Details West (I think), but these aren't what I'm looking for. The same thing goes for the ditch lights if I decide to light them as well.
Thanks for the help. Kerry
