Looks like I will be the first to post in this. Anyway I am starting to detail a SD50. It will be a Southern Railway unit. I have already assemble the high hood and am waiting on the rest of the detail parts to finish.

That's a novel unit! Seems like all I do is wait on parts.

Smoke nice start what type of parts are you waiting for and who is the manufacturer of the loco? HD It's a Proto 2000. What I meant by "[glow=red,2,300]waiting on the rest of the detail parts to finish[/glow]" is that the detail parts are the next step, and I need to get some. [glow=red,2,300]-Smoke[/glow]

looks promising. wish i could do smoky vally handrails which i asume you will be adding to the model. by the way you do relize the real ns sd50 units were not highhooded Not sure if I am going to use SV handrails or not, might just use the P2K ones that came with it. Oh, and this is a fantasy Southern Railway unit. I model Southern Railway as if they never went out of business. This is one of many engines that will be southern at the end of the summer.[glow=red,2,300] -Smoke[/glow]

It has been placed on the back burner. Last time I went to caboose, they were out of HH kits as well too, and I have been working on other projects lately.

I have the high hood built and installed. I am doing this project a little different than I usually do. I have glued the walkway to the hood, and the cab to the high hood. Once that dried I glued everything together. so right now everything is glued waiting on myself to decide what I want to replace on the model.

On my LL SD60's the only thing i think I really changed was the air tanks on the bottom,I milled the frame down to accept the tanks also, but as far as that the rest was factory....
