Well, Meridith, you have got some MAD SKILLS!! That is the second best finished Ambroid kit I have ever seen (the first being your RBOX) And BTW, those bottom gates are THE BOMB!!

That is a great job you did. I especially like the way the trunks turned out. Can you tell us how you weathered the trucks?

If you are going to kitbash, one of the MP cars with the alternate end configurations would be a good candidate:

carlmarsico: I dig the angled end ladders and the absence of side ones. Very cool...

Sorry I missed the question atsf90. Sure, the trucks: after washing them and painting them with Krylon primer gray (same paint for the body) I use a series of washes. I thin a little acrylic black, the cheap Wal-Mart stuff and paint out the centers just above the springs and in-between the coils. Let dry just a little and wipe excess off the high areas with a damp q-tip leaving the recessed backed out. The krylon leaves a nice fine tooth for the successive washes to hold too. I have like 8 different earth tones. I pick out 3 or 4 progressively, dark to lighter ones: thin them out a little, apply them 1 at a time after letting them dry a little longer than the black did, and wipe them with a dry q-tip. There seems to be a lot of break dust build up, so I dry brush a nice rust tone around the journals and in the middle of the cap. Take the balance on your brush and smear it across the springs as well. After that I mixed up a light gray with a little white and dry bushed the highest spots on the truck. Seal with your favorite matt. I do the same thing with black trucks as with gray or most other colors.

Thank you for sharing your technique on the trucks. I will be trying it out soon.
