Has anyone tried milling off the metal section encased by the Atlas full tank and attach a railflyer fuel tank?
I would be willing to donate a chassis if someone who has the milling machine would like to take a shot.

You can't. You would not have anywhere to mount the motor unless you raised the motor, but then you will have issues with the drive line.
Yes, I have tried just about everything with ready to run frames.
I've got something in the works. Some of you may like it, some of you may not and some may not care. When it is ready, I will post photos and it will be a one time get it while you can deal. The more I get made, the less they will cost.

That's a nice tank, too bad you can't buy one to fit the atlas frame without doing a bunch of grinding. Randy: Brian could probably design one to fit like that...but the frame still needs to be cleaned up a bit for the tank to look "right", IMO. You may as well just stay with the Atlas tank and just cut the facia off. It would defeat the purpose of going through the trouble of designing a new tank just to have a huge cavity in it that would overridde the detail of designing the new tank.
