ok im almost 100% sure that this doesnt exsist but is there such a thing as a wide cab gp 9 ? im looking to do a free lanced loco and i have a gp 9 sitting around, so im trying to find someing different to do with it, i was thinking a wide cab? any one else have any ideas?

I remember seeing a photo of a railroad in Mexico that rebuilt a GP with an F unit nose, of course this was YEARS ago. Does anybody else recall this beast?

That GP7 ended up in Connecticut Shore Line East commuter service. It got painted to the New Haven's Mc Ginnis colors. I don't know where it is now.

Knew that I wasn't suffering from Old-Timers yet! ;D ;D I found a couple of pictures of that Mexican unit. Only it wasn't a rebuilt of a GP. Randy, are you ready for this? It was a rebuilt of an AlCo RS11.Here are some photos of it. I scaned them from a modeling article in the May 1979 issue of RMC, the photos and model were by Don Wallworth.

just goes to show, that anything is possible, im still not sure on the gp 9 wide cab, but im still giving it some thought

The MEC 471 is now owned by a Historical Society in Ohio, and its painted Blue and Yellow, but still has that home build cab.
