Caught a 811 coal train heading east over the Dunreith District this afternoon. Took a bunch of pictures, but only these are good enough. Called it a day at Dublin... Here we catch the 811 pulling hard with 3 big motors, crawling along at around 25mph, so we headed on east in pursuit. We sneaked our way in behind the packaging company as you can see in the picture..!!! The guard let us... -------- We raced as quick as we could to the west edge of Greenfield in hopes of catching it and we did.. As you can see I barely got the camera ready, but we caught all 3 engines in this, a GE and 2 EMD's. -------- Storms chased us most of the way and you can see them building in the west. Here we catch 811 powering past the signal at CP-Dublin. No worries, we talked the manager at the Cargill plant into letting us take a few pictures from there since they weren't loading anything. So a rare shot indeed! -------- At this point we called it a day as gas is just too expensive to waste!

Can't believe that the "safety" cab with a/c is on the rear,I think we should call that dispatcher and let him know that the lead engine is bad ordered and so we need to swap the power around,it is facing the right way........

No headlight or ditchlights on the 60M yet!!!!! Thus, no leader... ;D It was only 90 here yesterday, they are ok. I spent many a afternoon on a highhood SD40 in close to 100 heat in yard service... No fun, atleast they have air moving..LOL

When I worked in Kansas City I had to go get a BN empty coal train out on the KCS main ,it had a C30-7 on the point ahead of 2 SD70MAC's ,those cabs are really small especially the doorway....and I am a little guy.EMD anyday...........And I like the spartan cab as I can put my feet up on the front seat and sleep good that way. I was on duty 13 hours last night and I never turned a wheel,I love when the mighty UP pays me to do what they say......SD40-2 was nice also......slept real good in that ballast plant...
