Thank you for all the comments. PEIR: The ditch lights are Genesis, they came with the model. I plan on installing LED's in them.

The underframe detailing is a nice touch. I've never gotten into that but seeing these pictures makes me think it might be worth a try on my next model.
I agree, the rusty wheels are a nice touch!

Does anyone make those automatic handbrake motors like on the prototype?

looks great. the underframe detailing looks spot on. i think it fills a void that most models have and goes a long way towards realism

what is you technique on the rusty wheels excellent job! I to model NS sd 70 with spartan cab's and a few sd70m's and if you want some excellent videos on NS look up billkuzma@hotmail.com (15 NS videos )around the cresson pa area all at least 2hrs or longer for 40 bucks s&h included very helpful in detailing NS units and it even has great SD 80 action in it and the quality i compare it to any pro quality produced videos) now back to the sd70 would love to know some of your techniques

Thank you for your comment, as for the trucks. I used artist acrylic paints mainly raw umber, burnt sienna, and yellow ochre. I stippled the paint on and while it was still wet I gave it a light dusting of weathering powder to tone down the shine. i got this technique from "model trains weathered dot com", so I can't claim it as my own.

Excellent work. Pop out the windows, run a Sharpie marker over the thin edge surfaces, and then reinsall them. The silver edges around the glass will disappear and your cab will look even better then.
