Here is some of my BN/BNSF patched SD40-2's ive detailed and weathered. 4 SD's pulling hard on a 40 unit grain set, 2 in the rear running DPU with a fuel tender. 6 total.

Its the athearn RTR ex roundhouse car. Added metal wheels, kadees, and detailed the ends adding MU hoses, plugs, and grabs all around per prototype. I havent yet added the sight gauges to the end yet. finally weathered and dullcoated. I used photos to finish the car.

SD40-2s have always been headturners so I have to ask: would you post more pictures of your good looking engines? What is the size of your group's layout? From what you've shown it looks like it was a fun place to run trains.

Hi Eric,
It's hard to go wrong with lots of SD40-2's on a train. DPU is even better. I like what you've done!

in a few weeks, ill get them out for some single pics. We got 2" of snow over the past 2 days right after having mid 60 degree weather lol.

I'll vote Cool, SD40-2 are my favs of any diesel, they have that really Mean look to them...

yup, all athearn. 4 are the newest runs, 1 is a blue box, and 1 ex C and S BN rtr. all engines have been renumbered and detailed per prototype. Hoping wednesday ill get them outside for some shots.
