I am building a 1970's era D&RGW caboose. Can anyone suggest the right color for the solid "orange" paint scheme? I t seems to be different than Aspen Gold used on passenger cars and F units.

The color scheme used on the solid orange cabooses is different from the passenger cars and F-units, which are painted "Grande Gold".
I think you're talking about the light-orange 01500-series Extended Vision cabooses, if so I'd suggest using Floquil UP light Orange as a base and tint it from there.
If those aren't the cabs you talking about, let me know.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, that gives me a starting point.
My caboose is a 1400 series in the solid orange color scheme. From the prototype picctures I have, it looks like the same color as the 1500 series, wide vision caboose.

You bet! Since you're modeling the 01400-series I'd suggest making the UP Light Orange a little brighter, maybe add some bright orange to it, just a HINT brighter though, not much. Since you're modeling a 1970's caboose, I'd suggest it being a little brighter to suggest a freshly painted cab. Please post some pix when you're done with it!
