Here is my version of the SP 5103 B23-7. I started with a Atlas B23-7, undecorated model and began detail work with notching the cab roof to accept the prime type A/C unit. I then added the antenna box behind the A/C and the circular toilet vent. Next I constructed the rear light bracket and mounted the DTW GE number boards to the rear face. I "modeled" the plow like the ones I would see come into the shop where I worked.
All that remains is the addtion of the ditchlights, nose wings, and brake wheel. Once added the weathering will be applied and the unit will be finished.

Yet again, another model I want to do, actually, an SSW (SP) Speed Lettered B30-7.
Nice work!

Oh then the next unit I post will hurt..... I have done the SP 7790 in full speed lettering! ;D I also have done the SSW 7797 as she was one of the only ones to not be speed lettered. I found a good picture of a dirty 7797 and used it as my basis for weathering.

I love it! I was always a fan of the SP B23-7s, I guess mostly because they were pretty rare, and they all seemed to be ratty looking compared to the clean B30s... UP train MKSWC, June 1999- I think this was the only time I ever seen one leading a road train, they were mostly used on locals by this time....
