Looks great Eric. I have a slow cable connection and facebook loads slow. You might want to give Fotki a look. They have a Slideshow button. public.fotki.com/dieseldetailer/

I used the Kato SD40/45 frame for this project. I had the frames milled along the edges to knock off the 45 degree angle that Kato had made them with. Just a simple and straight 90 degree angle.
I put all of the traction motor cables and stuff on one my my SD39's, but with the black paint on ATSF underframes, it all sort of blends in so I have since quit putting all of that detail on my blue/yellow fleet. It wasn't worth the effort.
I've found that putting all of the roof-top and main cab detail is really where it's at. Since I actually plan on having a layout someday, I have started to throttle back on some of the details that I have been putting on locomotives. When they get handled and operated by the even the best operators, things get broke. I've seen coupler lift bars get ripped off the front of locomotives on a friends layout.

Hey Eric,
I've seen your work many times on Pbase galleries of WPMMs. I'm a BNSF/BN/SF fan so your work is even more appealing to me since you have so many Sante Fe units. (sorry 'bout the merger thing...)

In the search for SD39 pics, I found a Soo Line SD39! Ex-MNS.

Yeah! Soo Line ended up with two of those bad boys! Love the work Eric. Just love it. The Santa Fe units are perfect candidates if you like rooftop deatails too!

Sadly one of the ex-SOO/MNS SD-39's was scrapped, but the other is still alive and well on Progressive Rail, nicely painted in PGR's MNS style paint and restored to her original number. PGR runs in the southern and western suburbs of the Twin Cities, much of it on ex-MNS rails. They would have loved to get the 2nd unit as well, but settled for an SD-38-2. Also on the roster are several ex-MNS SW-1500's, along with similar units from other sources.
They also run the Wisconsin & Northern which uses a batch of GP-15's.
