Looks like it'd be an interesting build! Apparently Habco had a could of these units, for reasons unknown personally to me, but apparently it was to handle extra equipment and crew members when it was at the helm of a Railgrinding trainset. I'm sure someone can invent a new history and reason for keeping the oddity! www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1063171

Go for it, Kris! If you need something to chop up, I have a couple of older Athearn Dummy F units (A's & B's) I can contribute for the surgery

Link this photo to anyone who says the BL-2 was the ugliest diesel made...LOL. This hideous beast should make them change that perception....

Well for me, I likes 'em ugly, a shame I have no reason to build one of these as i have a pair of BL2 on the back house back burner.

And they picked some ugly colors for it too. Could make for an interesting proejct, now aside from a railgrinder outfit that needed room for an extra crew, why could a railroad use these?

Looks like the cab extension was made to the front of the existing cab as there's no high nose. Shouldn't be too hard to build it by cutting front of old cab off & make the extension using plastic sheets. All very carefully of course!

It kinda, sorta looks like two early GP cabs spliced together. This beast is getting more interesting every time I look at it! I wish somebody would do it, so I don't have to......... ;D
