Here is the latest paint job for CIOR engines. Just a few tweaks to it, nothing that takes away. I like simple and this to me is pretty simple. opinions? img via paintshop.railfan.net

That would look good with a white frame stripe.

I think it looks good. The thin stripes might be hard, but with paitence should be worth it.

Randy, thanks for adding the frame stripe. I forgot to!!!! Yes, it will have that frame stripe to be FRA compliant.
As to the thin stripe, I'm not painting it...LOL. The painter says he can do it, so I will leave him to it. Perhaps I can get the GEVO or ACe ready for here.

The only thing that I see is that I think the handrails should be green with white corners. But that's only my opinion... Looks good though! Christian

Ok Matt here is my opinion, now it is just an opinion, What about making the stripes on the side the same size as the nose chevrons and running them directly of those and maybe the chevrons on the nose down on the front and rear pilot. Now that is alot of stripes but it would look pretty good ,just a thought now it is your railroad and you do whatever you like.......Here is a pic of a engine I did with the stripes on the nose and plow.........end handrails white otherwise I like it......

you *could* get really crazy with the end striping and do it southern style--stripes on the pilot front, but not the plows...It's hard to tell from the side view--are these chevron style stripes (vee) or are they angular stripes, like CPRail or BN's? CPRail's stripes meant something...on the front they were only white(with the Red base paint) on the rear, they were white and black...it appears that this would be a short-hood forward engine in that case!
Lookin' Good!

Anthony, Well, this isn't my design. What I was told, it used the thin stripe off the decal on the side to go down the side. As you noted from the decals you have, that stripe is thin. If you widen it, I think it might be too much. But I do see your point.
Doc, you know who designed it, give them a talking to! LOL..... I'm still open on it. Has CO give you your key to said locker yet?

I completely see your point....... I even gave thought to making the front chevron the thin look to match the thin stripe, but that just doesn't look good at all. Or atleast I don't think so. Another idea was to end the stripes on the hood itself and not wrap around the cab and to the nose. But I just thought it looked half done. One scheme was more like Conrail's bow wave, it looked nice, but that was the old State logo and worked with the thicker stripe.

I solved it, now it's uniform on both ends.

hmmmmmmm..... I like them both though. I'm wondering if I cut the legs off the nose logo if that would fit in there too.

You going to try and do that scheme Anthony? If you do, do the revised one (the matching end stripes) and then use the square with the C inside, but cut the legs off. Then put it in the middle of the stripes on the shorthood.

I won't worry about it, I will leave that to the custom painter. Remember, that is the main reason the CIOR is all green...thank goodness for someone to paint my engines...LOL
