In my spare time, I am trying to build a model of the train I take to school and back. The Pacific Surfliner, train 799, from LAUPT to San Luis Obispo usually consists of AMTK 510, 3 amfleet coaches, a horizon cafe, and a cabbage - AMTK 90208. I have everything but the horizon cafe. I used a bachmann F40 that I found on ebay for the NPCU (Non Power Control Unit). Here is a picture of the train in San Luis Obispo. (not the best looking train I've seen) The base. From what I can tell, Amtrak removed the prime mover and traction motors, put in the roll up doors, and removed all the roof fans. If anyone has more information on these, that would be great. So, I removed the roof fans and put in the doors: More to come...

Off to a great start. I've always liked these units and can't wait to see how it will turn out! ;D
